When this gigantic 120-meter-long Russian ship crashed loaded with corn on its way to Cuba in 1978, it split into two parts and sank off the coast of Bavaro. Submerged to 12 meters, The Astron Wreck continues to be popular with more experienced divers, but only when the water is calm as the area has strong currents. It’s worth taking a look at the ship’s magnitude, including its giant propeller, which is said to weigh more than 20,000 tons.
