This cave is near the International Airport of Las Américas, in Santo Domingo. The cave is located on private property and a payment must be made to access diving. The entrance is an oversized sinkhole with a spiral metal staircase leading down to the water. There are two different sides to this cave, the right side goes through a big tunnel and goes down to the main line, there is a huge and decorated room there, there is also a very steep halocline and the walls are very white. Further on the main line descends through a restriction to 43 meters, the deepest point in the cave, before ending. The left side of the cave entrance is very different and highly decorated with crystal white stalactites and columns everywhere. After swimming along the main line for some time we come across a jump to the right which takes us into a low but wide flattened tunnel, super decorated in places. The Taíno Cave is diveable in any configuration. Its maximum depth is 43 meters and the length is 1,100 meters.
