The first sunken ship, the majestic St. George, located just half a mile off the coast of Bayahibe and at a depth of more than 30 meters, is one of the most impressive diving spots in the area and the favorite of most of our visitors.

The second, the Atlantic Princess, a small cruise ship just 11 meters deep, located on a large reef and surrounded by a biodiversity that will not leave you indifferent.

After lunch in the cozy town of Bayahibe, we will close the day with a flourish, a dive into a spectacular cavern or cenote of crystal clear fresh water, with impressive geological constructions.

The journey from Punta Cana is 1 hour to reach Bayahibe. Once in Bayahibe we will arrive at the diving center to prepare all the necessary equipment, and we will move towards the Cotubanamá National Park where we will find two of the best known caverns in the area, Padre Nuestro and Chicho.

There will be an immersion in each of the caverns lasting approximately 40 minutes.

Isla Saona is located 19 kilometers south of the mainland, the beautiful beaches of Isla Saona attract more visitors than all the Dominican national parks combined. A protected area of ​​110 km2 and part of the Cotubanama National Park. The island has two permanent human settlements, the towns of Mano Juan and Catuano. Mano Juan is a fishing village with wooden houses and "Catuano beach", which has a navy detachment.

With Dominican Divers you can enjoy a full-day excursion to Isla Saona, to dive or snorkel with your family or friends. The pick-up is at 7:15 am at the hotel or place where you are staying (the pick-up time may vary depending on your location). The journey from Punta Cana is 1 hour to reach Bayahibe.

Once in the town of Bayahibe we will arrive at the dive center to prepare our equipment, and we will embark from the port of Bayahibe when our boat is ready.

The first diving and snorkeling point is just 5 minutes from the port of Bayahibe. It’s a place called Atlantic Princess, the name given to a small cruise ship sunk in 2002 just 40 feet (12 meters) deep. Place where both divers and snorkelers will enjoy the large amount of marine life that lives in this place.

We will continue sailing for about 30 minutes in the direction of El Peñón, the second stop for our water activities. El Peñón is a reef 12 meters (40 feet) deep where a great variety of tropical fish, rays and turtles live.

Divers will follow the instructions of our Dominican Divers Instructors, to always enjoy the experience with maximum safety. Paying important attention to the bottom times, the depth limits set by your dive guide and the diving standards according to your certification. While the snorkeling people will enjoy the activity, always accompanied by a snorkeling guide or under the supervision of the ship’s staff. Without leaving the area marked by your guides.

At the end of the activities, we will go to Isla Saona to enjoy a delicious typical Dominican buffet with meat, rice, pasta, vegetables, salad and fruit.

The excursion is half a day long. We pick you up at your hotel or the place where you are staying and we will go to the boarding point that is only 20 minutes from the city of Bávaro.

Arriving at the starting point, we will prepare all the equipment and board when the ship is ready. There is about 15 minutes of navigation to reach the first point of diving with sharks.

It is a totally virgin reef, about 25 meters deep, and you will be able to see different types of sharks such as nurse sharks or reef sharks. Being a recreational dive of 25 meters deep, it will last a maximum of 30 minutes (the minimum times depend on the air consumption of each diver), at which time we will ascend to make a safety stop. (5 meters/3 minutes).

Now it’s time to exchange emotions with our diving buddies and instructors!!! We want to know how you lived your experience while we do a surface interval of about 15 or 20 minutes.

The second dive will take place at a depth of about 12 meters. It can be a ship wreck (Monica Wreck) or a reef (the place of the second dive depends on the daily planning of the dive center).

At the end we will return to the coast to wash and store the diving equipment. Where our transport will be waiting to go back to the hotel.

Bayahibe is a fishing village in the Dominican Republic, which is located in the south of the country, on the coast of the Caribbean Sea.

Today, diving is probably the most common tourist attraction in Bayahibe and it is the best place to dive in the Dominican Republic. There are over 20 official dive sites located near Bayahibe and they are all accessible from local dive boats.

We will find different diving points suitable for all types of qualifications. From reefs only 6 meters deep, to sunken ships at more than 30 meters. Visitors will also be able to marvel at the colorful marine life, the formation of corals and may even have contact with the friendly dolphins, cat sharks or manatees.

The boat trip can last between 5 and 15 minutes, depending on the dive sites to visit. 2 different dives will be made in 2 different dive sites. Always under the supervision of our Dominican Divers instructors, and following their instructions.

The first dive can be a deep dive (30 meters) on a sunken ship, “St, George” or a reef between 12 to 15 meters deep. (Deep diving at the St. George Wreck requires Advanced Open Water Certification and a record of more than 20 dives).

Between dives we will do a surface interval of 10 to 20 minutes (depending on whether the first dive is deep or not), where you can have a non-alcoholic drink and tell us about your experience on the first dive.

After the second dive, we will return to the port and take our equipment to the dive center and prepare for the trip back to Punta Cana.

CATALINA ISLAND

Catalina Island is an uninhabited paradise located in the Caribbean Sea, near our southern coast of the Dominican Republic, but with all the necessary infrastructure for the visitor’s enjoyment.

The Scuba Diving and Snorkeling Excursion in Catalina Island is a full day in duration. The pick-up is at 7:15 am at the hotel or place where you are staying (the pick-up time may vary depending on your location). The journey from Punta Cana is 1 hour to reach Bayahibe.

Once in the town of Bayahibe we will arrive at the dive center to prepare our equipment, and we will embark from the port of Bayahibe when our boat is ready. The navigation time will be about 45 minutes, until we reach our first diving and snorkeling stop, in a place called “The Wall”.

The Wall is a beautiful reef in the Caribbean Sea with warm and crystal clear waters perfect for diving and snorkeling at the same time, thanks to its depth difference, between 4 to 30 meters (13 feet to 100 feet). We assure you to see beautiful coral gardens full of life during your snorkeling activity, while divers can descend through its amazing wall enjoying all kinds of underwater life.

At the end of the first activity, the snorkelers go to Catalina Island to enjoy its paradisiacal beach, while the divers will visit the second diving place, called "Aquarium", with a depth of 12 meters (40 feet), perfect for beginner divers or for certified divers.
