Enriquillo RM-22
The Enriquillo RM-22 is a 44 meter long and 10 meter wide ship that sailed at 13 knots with a crew of 45 men and 3 50-mm machine guns. She was donated by the United States to the Dominican Republic navy in 1980, later delivered to the Puntacana group in 2006 and sunk off the coast of Playa Blanca. It is 18 meters below sea level and only the most experienced divers can do this dive due to the strong currents in the area. Among the numerous species present are large schools of Atlantic trevally, gilthead bream, yellowtail snapper, and hawksbill, leatherback, and green sea turtles, which come ashore to lay their eggs.
