The courses of specialties are programs where you will expand your information on more specific topics of the world of diving.  In Dominican Divers we show you these specific cursos with which to discover incredible dive sites  in the profuncities of the Dominican Republic.   In a fun way   you will improve your skills and knowledge to become a specialist in certain diving subjects that most catch your attention. Dare to try them!

PADI Cavern Diver course

This program includes

  • 4 dives
  • Academic Sessions
  • Confined water sessions
  • Cave diving sessions

Have you never seen an underwater cavern and its incredible rock formations? 

In Dominican Republic, we have incredible caverns of sweet water that you will love.

The Cavern Diver Specialty course offers you the knowledge and  techniques needed to explore caverns  of our natural  environment in Punta Cana and Bayahibe, allowing you to enter enough to enjoy the adventure, but staying within the illuminated area to have an easy exit to waters  Open.

Requirements

  • You need to be Advanced Open Water Diver
  • Minimum 18 years of age to participate in the Cavern Diver course.

Learn about

  • Handling of specialized equipment for cave diving, such as flashlights and redundant breathing systems.
  • Avoid disorientation and techniques to avoid removing sediments.
  • Dive planning, including depth and distance limits and air management for cave diving.

Night Dive Course

This course includes:

Have you ever wondered what happens underwater after sunset?  In Punta Cana you can enroll in the Night Diver specialty course.

Dive at night seems mysterious, though it’s mind-boggling.  It’s a whole new world and you watch it come to life with the light of your diving flashlight. Our Punta Cana and Bayahibe reefs change scenes as the creatures of the day retreat and nocturnal organisms come out.

Course Requirements:

  • Have (Junior) Open Water Divers certification or higher
  • Be at least 12 years of age to enroll in the Night Diver specialty course.

  • Sailing underwater at night without getting lost
  • Making ascents and descents in the dark
  • Use your diving flashlight to communicate

Deep diver Course

Includes:

To make these dives in a safe way Dominian Divers will teach you the right techniques and knowledge and that is what the Deep Diving Course offers you.

Course Requirements:

  • You need to be Advanced Open Water Diver

Enriched Air Diver Course

This course includes:

Have you ever dreamed of having no decompression limits to take photos or explore a wreck?  Then the Enriched AIR Diver course  is what you are looking for.

Enriched air, also known as Nitrox or EANx, contains less nitrogen than normal air. Breathing less nitrogen means your body will work less and desaturation times will be reduced during your dive.  So you can enjoy dives for longer  and enjoy shorter surface intervals.

Course Requirements:

  • You need to be Open Water Diver
  • Minimum 12 years of age to participate.

Search and recovery diver course

This program includes

  • Online Theory 
  • One Pool Dive
  • 4 Dives in the ocean

The next time someone loses something in diving, you can be the hero who finds the object!!In the Search and Recovery course you will learn how to find lost objects underwater, while  having fun diving.You’ll practice different types of underwater search paths and learn how to use a lift balloon as you plan and execute simulated search operations. 

 Course Requirements

  • Have certification (Jr.) Advanced Open Water or (Jr.) Open Water with certification in Underwater Navigation.
  • Minimum 12 years of age to participate in the search and retrieval.

Sidemount Diver Course

This program includes:

  • 1 Pool Session
  • 3 dives in the Ocean

Carrying the diving bottles on your back is not a requirement for diving. Many divers have discovered the pleasure of mounting the bottles on the sides.  Sidemounted diving offers you flexibility and options to achieve a hydrodynamic position. Plus, you won’t have to walk around with the heavy bottles on your back, just get into the water, hook them up and you’re good to go.  

Course requisitions

  • You need to have Open Water Diver certification.
  • Be at least 15 years old to sign up for the Sidemount Diver course.

Learn about

  • Properly assemble and configure sidemount diving equipment.
  • Adjust your ballast system and sidemount equipment so that you are perfectly balanced in the water.
  • Manage gas in diving by changing the second stages as planned, if two bottles are taken.
  • Respond correctly to potential problems by diving with sidemount.

Wreck diver course

This program includes

  • Online Theory
  • 1 Pool Session
  • 3 Ocean dives

 

Diving in shipwrecks means diving in the past.  In the Dominican Republic you will find both wrecks that have sunk on purpose as an artificial reef or shipwrecks that have been the result of an accident. Dominican Divers will teach you the abundant life found  in the shipwrecks of Punta Cana and Bayahibe.
This cuso gives you the skills and knowledge needed to dive safely above and around these underwater treasures.

Course requisitions:

  • You need to have Adventure Diver certification
  •  You have at least 15 years of age to sign up for the wreck diver specialty

PEAK PERFORMANCE BUOYANCY COURSE

This program includes

  • Online Theory
  • 1 Pool Session
  • 2 Ocean dives

Excellent buoyancy control is what defines skilled divers. They glide effortlessly, consume less air. They more easily observe aquatic life without disturbing their environment. You can achieve this too.

PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers or above, who are at least 10 years old, can take the Peak Performance Buoyancy course.

Course requisitions

  • Open Water certification or equivalent degree.
  • Be at least 10 years old

  • Achieve neutral buoyancy
  • Fleet motionless effortlessly
  • Use the right amount of ballast

Tec sidemount

This program includes

    • Course duration: 2-3 days
    • Number of dives: 4 open water dives
    • Buoyancy system and harness configured for side-mount diving along with the bottles, each with a regulator and a pressure gauge.
    • Assistance at all times from a certified instructor.
    • PADI Tec Sidemount certification.

If you have looked at technical diving, you will have noticed that technical divers always carry more than one bottle. Sidemount is an increasingly popular way to set up multiple bottles for technical diving.  

In Punta Cana you can enter the world of technical diving with the Tec Sidemount Diver course and apply what you learn  with Dominican Divers in other TecRec courses. This course can be integrated with the Tec 40, Tec 45 or Tec 50 courses.

You will get practical training during 1 session in confined waters and 4 dives in open water where you will start with two bottles and add at least two more.

Requirements:

  • Be 18 years old.
  • Be in possession of the Advanced Open Water Diver.
  • 30 registered dives.
  • Have an official medical certificate with a seniority not exceeding 2 years.
  • Have a diving insurance (if you do not have it we can process it).

Learn about:

  • The advantages of diving with a sidemount configuration
  • Properly assemble and configure the sidemount technical diving harness.
  • Adjust your ballast system and sidemount equipment so that you are perfectly balanced in the water at all times during your dives.
  • Manage the gas by changing the second stages as planned, if two or more diving  bottles are taken.
  • Respond correctly to potential problems by diving with sidemount.
