Discover scuba diving
Do you want to dive for the first time in Punta Cana, but are you not prepared enough for a certification course? Discover Scuba Diving is for you. In Dominican Divers we offer you this initiation program for diving in a pool, on the beach or from a diving boat. You can try scuba diving while on vacation in Dominican Republic. Although not a diving certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it’s like to explore the underwater world of Punta Cana.
To sign up with Donimican Divers for a Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old. No previous diving experience is necessary, but you need to have reasonable physical health.

BUBBLEMAKER
Bubblemaker is as fun as it sounds. An opportunity for children to release bubbles by diving. Children who are at least 8 years old can use the diving equipment to breathe underwater and swim in shallow water.
The child must be 8 years old or older. Children should be comfortable in the water, but no previous experience is necessary. Parental authorization is required.
Learn about:
- Experience scuba diving under the direct care of a Professional Diving Instructor.
- Take your first breaths underwater at a depth of less than 2 meters/6 feet.
- Learn how to use scuba gear made for kids.
- To have a lot of fun.

The Scuba Diver course is a subcourse of the Open Water course. If you are going to be a short time Punta Cana, but really want to become a diver, the level of Scuba Diver can be great for you. This diving course is an intermediate step to getting an Open Water Diver certification, if that is your ultimate goal.
To enroll in a Scuba Diver course (or a Junior Scuba Diver course) , you must be 10 years of age or older. You need proper swimming techniques and to be in good physical health. No previous diving experience is required, but you can try the Discover Scuba Diving program first.
Scuba Divers will be qualified to:
- Dive under the direct supervision of a Professional Instructor to a maximum depth of 12 meters/40 feet.
- Rent or purchase diving equipment and participate in diving activities as long as they are properly supervised.
- Continue diving training by completing the Open Water Diver certification and do certain specialty diving courses.
Open Water Course
This course includes:
- Online theory
- 5 pool sessions
- 4 dives from boat
- Guide
- Transport
- Complete Diving Equipment
The Open Water Course is the first level of diving certification. One of our Dominican Divers Instructors will teach you how to dive in a relaxed learning environment.
In the Open Water Course you will learn theory, practice and enjoy 4 incredible dives in Punta Cana.
At the end of the Open Water Course, you will have the skills and knowledge to dive, up to 18 meters deep, accompanied by another Open Water Diver certificate, or with a higher certification.
Open Water Divers will be qualified to:
- Be a safe diver
- Assemble and use diving equipment
- Manage your buoyancy
- Respectfully approach marine life.
- Handling common problems
Advanced Open Water COURSE

If you are a certified diver and want to improve your skills on your vacation in Punta Cana, it is time for you to discover the Advance Open Water Diver Course.
In the Advance Open Water Diver course you will learn specialty theory, practice sailing, and try deep diving and do three special Adventure dives of your choice. Each specialty dive you complete, you can earn credit for specialty certifications. .
If you wish to purchase this course, it is required to have the Open Water Diver certification.
Advanced Open Waters Divers will be qualified to:
- Explore below 18m/60ft

RESCUE DIVER COURSE & FIRST AID (EFR) Course

Cavern diver course
This program includes
- Academic Sessions
- Confined water sessions
- Cave diving sessions
Do you want to discover the caverns we have in Punta Cana, Bayahibe and much of the Dominican Republic? This cavern course is designed to develop cave diving skills within the limits of light penetration. Our Dominican Divers team will ensure that divers are aware of their own responsibility during diving and able to manage risks in overhead environment.Dives at depths greater than the diver’s previous certification level cannot be performed.
Requirements
- Must be qualified in IANTD Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent.
- A minimum of 15 years of age for the qualification of Diver with the authorization of a parent or guardian.
- Jr. Cavern Diver: Students between the ages of 12 and 14 who meet Cavern Diver’s performance requirements may qualify for a Jr. Cavern Diver certification that allows them to dive under the supervision of an adult who has a minimum of Cavern Diver.
- Diver certification level or higher.
- A minimum of 10 recorded dives

Intro to cave course

Have you already tried your cave diving and would you like to go further?
At Dominican Divers we offer you the Intro to Cave course, which is designed to provide an introduction to the diving environment in the most spectacular caves of Punta Cana and Bayahibe.
With this course you will get your IANTD Intro to Cave certification.
Dives at depths greater than 40 meters (132ft) cannot be performed.
Certification requirements:
- You must be qualified in IANTD Wreck Diver or IANTD Cavern Diver, IANTD Limited Mine Diver or equivalent.
- A minimum of 15 years of age for diver qualification with an authorization from parents or guardians.
- Diving experience, minimum of 30 recorded dives

Cave diver Course
This program includes

- Aerial diving sessions
Have you tried the Intro to Cave course and liked it? Would you like to get to the depths of this specialty? The Cave Diver course is designed to teach you all the necessary techniques and train you as a trained diver to do safe cave dives. Dives at depths greater than 40 meters (134 feet) cannot be performed.
Requirements
- You must be qualified as an IANTD Introductory Cave Diver or equivalent.
- You must accredit a minimum of 50 registered dives. Cave diver, without being qualified as an introductory cave diver.
- You must be qualified as an IANTD Open Water Diver or equivalent.
- Must have proof of 100 dives.
- A minimum of 18 years of age for the qualification of Diver with an authorization of the parents or guardians.
